Since medieval times, it has been valued as a culinary herb, especially for flavoring spirits or hearty meat dishes. Character: Mediterranean subshrub; blooms from June to August; strongly aromatic fragrance.
Flower: Greenish-yellow, cluster-like, attractive to pollinators.

Cultivation: Sow from February onwards in a bright, warm indoor location. As it is a dark-germinating plant, cover seeds lightly with soil. Thrives in sunny, dry, and calcareous spots.
